PASTEURISATION AND STERILISATION OF LIQUID PRODUCTS
The PASTEURISATION process, which can be extended to STERILISATION, can be carried out continuously on liquids and other fluidised products. The product must be suitable for pumping through an aseptic system up to the final storage (examples of products are: liquids with suspended particulates, slurry mixtures, juices with pulps).
The heating process is extremely rapid (heating rates of 1°C/sec can be easily achieved), uniform (the particulates and the surrounding liquid will be heated simultaneously, without over-processing the liquid product) and effective (the desired reduction of microbes is obtained accurately and repeatedly) without noticeable modifications of the product's taste. The pasteurisation installation also comprises of a final cooling system, from which the product exits in optimum conditions for storage or for the next process stage.
