Dryers for glass fibres

Dryers for glass fibres

Stalam has developed specific engineering solutions to get the best out of the Radio Frequency technology for the drying of glass fibres:

  • full stainless steel construction of inlet and outlet tables, ceiling and floor of the drying cabinets, electrodes, moist air exhausters
  • special strong, modular type conveyor belt, made of fire-proof composite material
  • wide conveyor belt and electrode system, to ensure low power density, gentle drying and better moisture removal using low electrode voltages (ie. no arcing occurs in the drying cabinets)
  • automatic electrode voltage control system at the optimal values, separately in each drying cabinet (this ensures perfect drying in all working conditions, irrespective of partial or full loading and of actual inlet moisture content)
  • power adjustment circuit through variable motorised coupling capacitor, with no need to adjust continuously the upper electrode position
  • additional anti-condensation units for the drying cabinets to avoid water droplets falling onto the product
  • air or water cooling system of the triodes, at the customer’s choice
  • oversized triode and key components, for longer life and better reliability

Other than the above standard features, Stalam can provide customised solutions to satisfy any process requirement.
